Bi-monthly Physician Giving Has a
Powerful Impact

Dr. Venance helps patients through bi-monthly donations to
London Health Sciences Foundation
Dr. Shannon Venance, a neurologist who works in London Health
Sciences Centre's Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences at University
Hospital, has strong convictions about supporting healthcare in her community.
"As physicians and researchers, we contribute to our community in
our professional roles, but we are defined by much more than our jobs, " Dr.
Venance says. "Making a donation is one extra piece that says I believe in
our organization beyond the work that I do."
Dr. Venance has been a dedicated, consistent supporter of London
Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF) since 2006. She gives regular, bi-monthly
donations because, in her view, "it's a painless way to increase the amount I
donate over time by making small gifts on a regular basis."
Dr. Venance's cumulative donations over the past five years have
translated into thousands of dollars for enhanced patient care, education,
research and state-of-the-art equipment. She gives generously to the Foundation
not only through her regular contributions, but also through her attendance and
support of LHSF's Signature Events
- Tastings and Country Classic Auction.
"My donation strategy fits with my philosophy of giving back to
the community I live and work in," she says. "We have an expectation that
patients and families will support our hospital, and I believe it is part of
our responsibility as physicians and researchers to do the same thing."
