Lawson Research
Lawson Health Research
Institute (Lawson) is the research institute of London Health
Sciences Centre (LHSC) and St. Joseph's
Health Care, London (St. Joseph's). As one of the largest
hospital-based research institutes in Canada, Lawson is committed
to furthering scientific knowledge to advance health care around
the world.
Within the Institute, a "bench-to-bedside" approach to medical
research is encouraged. This means that Lawson researchers focus
their efforts on the development of new knowledge that can be
applied directly to patient care within the hospitals. Through
collaboration and the sharing of their discoveries, Lawson
researchers make a difference in patients' lives every day.
Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry
The Schulich School of
Medicine & Dentistry at The University of Western Ontario has a
long tradition of excellence, beginning with founding of the
medical school in 1881 and continuing with the formation of the
dental school in 1964.
Schulich Medicine & Dentistry's reputation has been built by
dedicated teachers, breakthrough discoveries, commitment to social
responsibility and its affinity for strategic partnerships.
Today, Schulich Medicine & Dentistry is a leading Canadian
centre of outstanding education and research shaping health care
for the next generation.
Children's Health Foundation
Children's Health Foundation is an
independent, incorporated non-profit organization that has been
raising money and granting funds to children's health care and
research for over 80 years. Since 1999, Children's Health
Foundation has granted over $38 million to Children's Hospital and
Children's Health Research Institute.
Donations to the Foundation support specialized paediatric patient care, equipment, education and community outreach at Children's Hospital and research into causes and cures of children's illnesses and disease at the Children's Health Research Institute.
