| An Estate Bequest Invests in the Future of Healthcare
Bill Kienapple, now retired, was a senior executive with GM Canada in London. Being involved in the London business community and the Economic Development Corporation, Bill has an eye for successful organizations and he also believes in investing in healthcare in London, both today and for the future. In London Health Sciences Centre, Bill has found an organization that is successful in treating its patients with caring and compassion.
Bill has been involved with London Health Sciences Centre and its Foundation for over nine years now. His interest in volunteering his time with the hospital came when his family struggled with cancer. During battles with this disease, Bill and his family were treated compassionately at London Health Sciences Centre and Bill noted their care and professionalism. He wanted to give back to the Hospital.
Bill learned more about the Hospital as he first sat on the Board of London Health Science Centre and now on the Board of London Health Science Foundation. The more he learned about the world-class programs and treatment at the Hospital the more he knew it was a worthwhile organization in which to invest – not only with his time, but also with donations.
Bill Kienapple wants the same excellence and expertise of the hospital to be available to his six children and eight grandchildren well into the future. To help ensure this happens, Bill has donated at the “Donor of Distinction” level, and in addition decided to leave a planned gift to the Foundation. While he had already decided he was going to donate, the recent changes to tax laws made bequests through his estate a preferred option. This method of donating allows Bill to make a donation while giving his estate tax relief.
Leaving a bequest in your Will to London Health Sciences Foundation can offer you the perfect opportunity to fulfill your philanthropic desires and leave a legacy for future generations. A set amount or a percentage of your estate residue can make a big difference. By telling us about your gift now, while you are alive, we will have the opportunity to thank you in person as one of our valued members of our “Donors for Tomorrow” family, recognize your generosity and show you the impact your gift will have.
In 2004 Bill Kienapple spoke of his involvement with London Health Sciences Foundation. He said, “We are very blessed in the city of London and surrounding area to have such an extremely high level of health care as provided by our hospital system. I truly feel good about supporting this outstanding organization to preserve its future.” |
