Inspiring an Environment of Philanthropy

As Professor and Chair of the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), Dr. Bryan S. Richardson has had the opportunity to personally witness the benefits of meaningful interaction and teamwork between colleagues specializing in patient care, education and research. Dr. Richardson believes that when individuals in those three areas work together, the sum is truly greater than its components, whether they are striving to improve patient quality of life or leading by example when it comes to philanthropy.

When it comes to giving back to the Hospital - which he believes is all the more important due to increasing constraints on health care dollars - Dr. Richardson choses to make personal financial donations to London Health Sciences Foundation (LHSF) to support the highest-priority needs of his Program. He also donates his time in an effort to inspire philanthropy from community partners as well as from his colleagues and key stakeholders.

Since the beneficiary of the 2011 Country Classic Auction is near and dear to Dr. Richardson's heart (Women's Health Services at LHSC), he is working harder than ever to motivate philanthropy in our community. Whether this is encouraging colleagues and associates to make a one-time gift, pledge ongoing support, attend an event like the Country Classic Auction or organize a fundraising event of their own, Dr. Richardson is helping to make an impact to the programs and departments that mean the most to him and his colleagues as well as the patients and families that rely on them.
